Trailblazers I

Get familiar with using iPads in your classroom. The Trailblazer I learning experience will be a year-long learning experience designed for elementary teachers. Teachers completing this program will also earn the Apple Vanguard certification.  

In this 1.5 credit class, teacher will learn:

  • iPad basics and troubleshooting
  • Instructional design integrating technology
  • Digital Citizenship
  • Using iPads for 
  • Collaboration 
  • Assessment
  • Communicate 
  • Creativity
  • Critical Thinking

Participants will attend a kick-off day Monday, Aug 7 from 8-12. Classes will be held on the second Monday of each month

Trailblazers II

Prerequisite: Trailblazers 1

Continuing with the work begun during the 2016-2017 school year, this will be an opportunity for the original Trailblazer. This cohort will investigate how technology is being utilized in education and incorporate this learning into instructional practice. Members will collaborate to embed technology in meaningful ways using district provided resources. To expand leadership opportunities, sessions will be co-constructed with participants.

Particular emphasis will include:

  • Technology-rich instruction in non 1:1 environments (iPads and Chromebooks)
  • Promoting safe and responsible use of technology
  • Using technology to support literacy and numeracy

This 1 credit course will meet on from 4:30-6:30 on Thursdays.
